Arsenal's final preparations for their Premier League visit to Manchester City didn't go exactly to plan as the Gunners were forced to train in thick fog at their London Colney base on Saturday.

With the blanket of thick fog causing major delays at London's airports today, Arsene Wenger and his side went to work as they put the finishing touches to their plans to beat Pep Guardiola's City at Etihad Stadium on Sunday.

Alexis Sanchez and Mesut Ozil were in high spirits, although Wenger has urged his players to recover from their recent 2-1 defeat to Everton to meet the challenge of City.

"We have been nine months unbeaten away from home so you have to take that a little bit with a distance as well," Wenger said earlier this week.

"You can lose football games, especially in an atmosphere like that and especially as well when you play so many games.

"We played five of the six games away from home, we had to play the Champions League on Tuesday, we had a difficult game on Saturday.

"We have to come here straight away again on Tuesday, I think Champions League teams have a little bit of a more difficult schedule."

The fog which shrouded London on Saturday caused scores of flights at Heathrow and London City Airport to be grounded, diverted or cancelled with planes also held up at Gatwick.
