Buveur D'Air won the Champion Hurdle at Cheltenham Festival for the second straight year as the pre-race favourite pipped his closest rival by a neck to clinch Tuesday's feature race.

Ridden by Barry Geraghty and trained by Nicky Henderson, who has six previous winners in the two-mile opening day showpiece, the seven-year-old continued a fine season at Cheltenham.

Earlier on Tuesday, Summerville Boy lunged late to claim a thrilling renewal of the Sky Bet Supreme Novices' Hurdle, while firm favourite Footpad ran out a dominant winner of the Racing Post Arkle Challenge Trophy Novices' Chase.

Unbeaten in three previous starts over fences, the Willie Mullins-trained six-year-old was the 5-6 favourite, ridden by Ruby Walsh.

Coo Star Sivola then clung on grimly to provide jockey Lizzie Kelly with her first Cheltenham Festival success in the Ultima Handicap Chase before Buveur D'Air won the Champions Hudle.
