Rod Stewart has a unique way of teaching his daughters’ a lesson in cleaning up, according to wife Penny Lancaster.

The Loose Women regular revealed that the veteran singer, 73, has previously left dog poo under the seats in his daughters’ cars when they fail to clean up after their pets.

The 46-year-old told the Mail on Sunday’s Life magazine: “If the girls bring their dogs into the house and they don’t clean up after them, he has been known to put the poo under their car seats.”

Lancaster also told the publication: “Rod obsesses about keeping the house in order. The boys have an Xbox room on which he has put a lock and a cardboard sign which will say things like, “No entry. You left the lights on” or “You’ve been rude to Mummy.”

The Maggie May singer has eight children from different relationships, including two boys – Alastair, 12, and Aidan, six, - with Lancaster.

Stewart has Renee and Liam with Rachel Hunter, Kimberly and Sean with actress and ex-wife Alana Stewart and Ruby with Kelly Emberg.

A few years ago, Stewart was reunited with daughter Sarah Streeter who was given up for adoption when she was very young.

Lancaster also opened up about her relationship with Stewart and the 27-year age gap between them.

She gushed: “I got the best of Rod. And I am fully aware that even though I love listening to his stories of the crazy days, no relationship could really last then.

“I sometimes wish I could go back in time to the 1970s or 1980s, sit at a bar and observe him, but I’m glad our time came when it did.”
