Stacey Solomon has revealed that she won’t take maternity leave when she gives birth to her first child with boyfriend Joe Swash.

In an interview with Chris Evans on his Virgin Radio breakfast show, the Loose Women star said that will continue to work after welcoming the new baby as she is self-employed.

“I’m self-employed so if I don’t work, I don’t get paid,” the 29-year-old told Evans.

“In this industry you can only earn while you’re earning and it might be a situation that I have work now but in six months time I might not. I will carry on working.”

Solomon and Swash confirmed their pregnancy news last month in a series of emotional Instagram posts.

The former EastEnders star shared photos of his partner sleeping and joked that he had believed her to be “bored senseless” by his company before learning that “she still loves me and my company very much she’s just been growing a baby”.

“I can’t begin to describe how happy we are to be able to share this wonderful news,” he continued.

“We’ve been so blessed with 3 incredible children that we’ve had the privilege of raising and we are forever grateful to have the chance to become parents to another wonderful child.”

Swash went on to describe the news as “very overwhelming and emotional,” and said that the couple “couldn’t be happier right now.”

The former X Factor contestant reiterated her boyfriend’s comments as she shared an ultrasound scan shortly after, telling followers that she was too emotional to write her own message.

“Every time I go to write anything I sob so… what he said,” she wrote.

Solomon is already a parent to Leighton, six, and Zachary, 10, from a previous relationship, while Swash also has an 11-year-old son, Harry, with his ex.
