Mariah Carey has paid tribute to one of her biggest fans after he was killed in the Manchester terror attack.

The US superstar, 47, posted a picture of Martyn Hett who was confirmed as the tenth victim of the devastating attack that killed 22 people and left dozens injured after Salman Abedi detonated a bomb at Ariana Grande’s Manchester Arena concert.

Carey captioned the Instagram post: “Devastated to learn that one of the victims in Manchester was part of the #Lambily. RIP Martyn Hett. We will cherish your memory forever.

“His family and all the families affected are in my thoughts and prayers. MC.”

Martyn – who once won Come Dine With Me and starred on Tattoo Fixers – was a huge fan of Carey, with his Twitter bio reading: “My life peaked when I met Mariah Carey.”

He was tweeting throughout Monday night's concert, and according to a friend, he left the main space to visit the bar ten minutes before the bomb was detonated.

The statement added: “Words cannot describe the generosity and kindness our families have received over the last few days.

“We are overwhelmed with the amount of lives he has touched and the kind words that are being said about him.

“Martyn was the icon of all our lives. His infectious laugh and his niche sense of humour will stay with us forever.

“He lived for every moment of every day and fitted an entire lifetime of memories into his 29 years.

“Whilst they have taken the life out of Martyn, no one can, and ever will, take Martyn out of our lives.”

Martyn's boyfriend Russell Hayward tweeted: “We got the news last night that our wonderful iconic and beautiful Martyn didn’t survive.

“He left this world exactly how he lived, centre of attention…. I love you Martyn. I always will.”

His brother Dan wrote: “The found my brother last night. We are heartbroken.”

Tributes for the victims have been flooding in from celebrities including Harry Styles who said he was left “heartbroken,” Demi Lovato who said she broke down in tears and Grande who said she has been left “broken”.
