Jamie Redknapp has no plans to contest his divorce despite being “unhappy” at being blamed for the split in marriage papers filed by Louise, according to reports.

The singer and her former football star husband ended their 19-year marriage by being granted a decree nisi at the Central Family Court in London on Friday.

Paperwork showed that Mrs Redknapp had filed for divorce and said the marriage had irretrievably broken down because of Mr Redknapp's "unreasonable behaviour".

Judge Ian Mulkis granted divorce decrees for the Redknapps and two other couples at a public hearing which lasted 25 seconds.

Mr Redknapp had not mounted any defence to his wife's divorce application.

However, according to the Sun, the 44-year-old former Liverpool and Tottenham midfielder was “unhappy” at being blamed for the split.

A friend told the newspaper: “Jamie is not happy he is blamed for the marriage ending by preventing her pursuing her career.

“She did loads of things when they were married and he never stood in her way.

“And he fully supported her decision to do Strictly — even though pals warned him about the show’s famous curse for breaking up relationships.”

The couple have sons, Charley, 12, and nine-year-old Beau together.

The Strictly Come Dancing star and her husband separated earlier this year after hitting "hard times" following her stint on the BBC show.

Louise, who is currently starring as Sally Bowles in Cabaret, ended their relationship earlier this year having “rediscovered” her confidence on Strictly Come Dancing, which she credited with pulling her out of her “comfort zone” as a “Stepford Wife”.

She said she felt “physically sick” at the thought of never feeling the buzz she got from taking part in the BBC ballroom show and knew that she wanted to “go back on stage in front of an audience.”

In November, she confirmed she was living apart from Jamie but that they were still in regular contact.
