David and Victoria Beckham have broken their social media silence for the first time since the couple branded rumours they are set to divorce “nonsense”.

The former England football star shared a black and white picture of himself smiling in sportswear.

In an Instagram post plugging his House 99 male grooming range, the 43-year-old wrote: “@House99 is gearing up, share your #GameReady looks.”

His wife posted an image of herself along with her three youngest children Romeo, 15, Cruz, 13 and Harper, six with her parents Jackie and Anthony Adams.

She simply captioned the snap: “Fun dinner x kisses from us all” followed by four love heart emojis.

It came amid a social media frenzy claiming that the couple are calling time on their 19-year marriage, with bookies suspending bets on the pair splitting.

Despite Victoria posting an image with daughter Harper early on Friday morning, saying that she “loves” and “misses” husband David, the topic became a trending discussion on Twitter.

A spokeswoman for the couple said: “There is no statement due or divorce. This is just fake social media news.

“This is all very bizarre and an embarrassing waste of time.”

The speculation comes after bookmaker suspended betting on the couple parting ways.

A spokesman from Paddy Power earlier said:” We’ve decided to suspend betting on the separation between Posh and Becks.”

The former footballer and Spice Girl-turned-fashion designer met at a charity football match in 1997, where Victoria gave David her phone number on the back of a plane ticket.

Revealing that they’d had crushes on each other before meeting, David wrote in his autobiography: “My wife picked me out of a soccer sticker book. And I chose her off the telly. It felt straight away like we'd always been meant to be together.”

David proposed to Victoria over dinner at a restaurant in Hertfordshire a year later and the singer fell pregnant in 1998 with first son, Brooklyn.

They tied the knot at Luttrellstown Castle in Ireland in 1999, before relocating to Spain when David signed to Real Madrid.
