The brand new trailer for Allied has been released just hours after news of Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie’s divorce.

Starring Pitt and Marion Cotillard, the strategically-timed release shows the co-stars getting amorous in war-torn London.

Posted on Twitter soon after Jolie confirmed that she had filed for divorce from Pitt, film studio Paramount wrote:

“Brad Pitt and Marion Cotillard star in #Allied. Watch a new look and see it in theatres November 23rd.”

The Robert Zemeckis-directed film, which opens on November 23, is about an intelligence officer who encounters a French resistance fighter in North Africa in 1942.

They later reunite in London and start a love affair, which is threatened by the war.

In the new clip, Pitt tells Cotillard: “Come with me to London to be my wife.”

Film fans were quick to note the studio’s well-timed release of the trailer, which coincided with news of Jolie and Pitt’s split.

While representatives for the actors have denied that a third party was involved in the break-up, Pitt and Cotillard have been plagued by rumours of a burgeoning relationship while making the film.

Jolie’s lawyer Robert Offer said on Tuesday that the actress had filed for divorce “for the health of the family."

“She will not be commenting and asks that the family be given privacy at this time."

Pitt said in a statement: "I am very saddened by this, but what matters most now is the well being of our kids. I kindly ask the press to give them the space they deserve during this challenging time.”
