Donald Trump has said he will boycott the next Republican debate after Fox News refused to drop Megyn Kelly as moderator following the pair’s clash during their last TV appearance.

The billionaire accused the broadcaster of “playing games” by including Ms Kelly who he has called a “third-rate reporter”.

It reignites their row the first presidential primary debate in August when Mr Trump said Ms Kelly was bleeding from her “wherever” in a crass remark seen as a reference to menstruation.

She shot back recently on her nightly show, arguing that Mr Trump is used to getting his way but cannot control the media.

She said her network and chief executive Roger Ailes had made it clear to Mr Trump for months that they would not change their line-up.

“I’ll be there,” Ms Kelly said. “The debate will go on with or without Mr Trump.”

On Monday, Iowa residents will gather in schools, churches and even private homes to choose among the Republican and Democratic candidates battling to be their party’s 2016 presidential nominee.
