We rode on an afternoon tea bus

Last week, London’s bus tours got a plush makeover courtesy of Belgian chocolatier Godiva.

The tour – publicity for their news Wonderful City Dreams collection – drove past some of the city’s most iconic sights at sunset.

Throughout the journey, passengers took in some of London’s most recognisable spots, from Trafalgar Square and Piccadilly to Notting Hill and Westminster.

On board, guests indulged in a selection of dishes inspired by the cities featured in the new chocolate collection, which include New York, Brussels, Tokyo, Shanghai and London.

Each city was represented by a different item on the menu. For London, there was a choice of finger sandwiches (either cucumber and mint or lamb and mint); Brussels was represented by mini gaufres (waffles) and traditional boulet liege; for Shanghai, spring rolls were served, and sushi rolls were plated to symbolise the iconic cuisine of Tokyo.

The bus also made a pit stop at the chocolatier’s Regent Street boutique, where guests hopped off for a chocolate tasting and dipping masterclass hosted by Godiva’s chocolatiers.
