Rylan Clark-Neal fans 'can't wait' as he replaces Zoe Ball to land own BBC Radio 2 show

Rylan Clark-Neal will host a brand new Saturday show on BBC Radio 2 from January – and fans are already counting down the minutes.

The Celebrity Big Brother presenter will be the voice of a brand new Saturday afternoon show from 3-6pm in the New Year, filling the slot left by Zoe Ball.

Fans were quick to congratulate Clark-Neal on the exciting news, saying that they “couldn’t wait” for him to get started.

One wrote: “Congratulations Rylan, will miss Zoe but you will be fab & I will definitely be listening!!”

Another said: “Congratulations!!!! Well deserved..... You are a legend.... Love ya...... Well done!!!!!!”

A third wrote: “Just heard it on the Radio Two news!!! I was Soooooo hoping it was going to be you!!!! Well done.... cannot wait!!!”

Others hailed the 30-year-old, who also regularly appears on This Morning, as a “superstar” for landing yet another media gig as they praised how “hard he had worked”.

It Takes Two host Ball was unveiled as the successor to Chris Evans on the Breakfast Show following his decision to move back to Virgin Radio.

Clark-Neal, who rose to fame when he starred in The X Factor in 2012, spoke of his excitement about his new show, saying he “couldn’t wait to get started”.

“I’m so excited and honoured to be joining the BBC Radio 2 family,” he said. “After stepping in for the amazing Zoe Ball over the summer, working with her fantastic team, I’m thrilled that I’ll be working with them again to fill listeners’ Saturday afternoons with fun, great music and a lot of laughter.

“I wish Zoe every success as the station’s new Breakfast Show host and I’m sure she’s going to be as brilliant as she always has been. I can’t wait to get started and look forward to being in the studio from the New Year.”

He is also the host of a new six-part series for BBC Sounds, Step Back In Time, which launches later this month.

Step Back In Time invites celebrities to delve into music from a different era as well as revisit fashion and toys from years gone by.
