Liam Payne was left fuming after he joined late to the Game of Thrones party – and predictably struggled to avoid spoilers online.

The former One Direction singer shared his irritation on social media after he revealed the HBO hit show had been ruined for him by threads on Twitter.

Sharing a meme of a toddler aggressively chucking a phone into a swimming pool, Payne wrote: “Seeing all the #GOT trends when you only just started watching it.”

The post was met with a flood of response from fans who related to the Bedroom Floor singer’s frustration.

One user wrote: “I guess we all know how the iPhone got shattered now. I had to mute the hashtag for spoilers Cos I haven’t watched yesterday and got to catch up later...”

Another added: “HAHAHA same, I love you so much.”

“SAME MAN I’ve been binge watching but I’m so scared to go on Twitter because of spoilers,” a third commented.

Payne’s post comes as the show gears up for the remaining three episodes.

After a shell-shocking third episode, which saw Arya Stark (Maisie Williams) take centre stage, fans have been treated to a first look at episode four.

The teaser hints at an explosive end in Westeros with Daenerys Targaryen’s (Emilia Clarke) eyes locked on securing the Iron Throne.

Speaking to Zoe Ball on her breakfast show earlier this year, he said: “[I’m] maybe not happy, but very satisfied.

“I’m so excited for people to see it, I think it’s going to be extraordinary, hopefully it’ll change TV again like it did originally, and break boundaries, I think it might.”

Game of Thrones airs on Sky Atlantic on Mondays at 2am and 9pm and is available to stream on NOW TV.
